It'll be a breezy 86-degree Sunday in Rio, but for most of us, November’s arrival means that the chilly air is here to stay for awhile. So let's head south for a ‘Rendezvous In Rio’ on The Sunday Brazilian Brunch.
I’ll be featuring hand-picked favorites that really capture the flavor of Brazil’s ‘Marvelous City’, and get you caught up on a few musical hotspots for your next trip.

Chicago Welcomes Maira Rita to City W...

by Brazil Club - Let The Music Take You There on 10/29/2013 - 05:47 pm

Brazilian music fans in Chicago will welcome Maria Rita to the City Winery stage on February 5th and 6th 2014.

Additional dates will no doubt be added in the coming days and we will post venues for New York, Washington DC and South Florida on this page as soon as they are finalized.

Perhaps her greatest challenge was to rise above the natural comparisons to her mother, Elis Regina, one of the all-time greatest singers of Brazilian popular music. But Maria Rita’s talent stands as testament to her own well-earned success: She won a Latin Grammy trifect ...

One of Brazil's most celebrated Chefs is on a personal mission to get you excited about Brazilian cuisine, as he tells Jenny Barchfield.

It’s bad enough that so few people outside Brazil know much about the country’s cuisine. But Alex Atala finds it particularly galling that even at home it rarely gets the respect it deserves.
“We are so proud of our soccer, our models, our music, our graffiti artists. Why is no one excited about Brazilian food?” the nation’s No. 1 chef — and the man behind Sao Paulo-based D.O.M., one of the top-ranked resta ...

This week on the Sunday Brazilian Brunch, it’s a confluence of coincidence as we set the table for the musical birthdays of Bossa legend Roberto Menescal and jazz guitarist Ricardo Silveira; both born on October 25th!
It's been a busy year for Silveira, who released a dual CD album with his Organ Trio featuring Vanessa Rodriguesand Rafael Barata. To celebrate, Ricardo played the posh, beachside Vizta Jazz Club in Leblon Friday night and t ...

This week, Sunday's Brazilian Brunch features the cool Brazilian jazz of Vinicius de Moraes as part of October’s ‘Singers & Songwriters’ theme.
Vinicius de Moraes would have turned 100 this weekend. He was a poet, a performer, an author, a playwright, a diplomat and one of Brazil’s greatest songwriters, having co-written more than 400 songs, often with Antonio Carlos Jobim as his songwriting partner.  Many of these ...

It's time for the Sunday Brazilian Brunch, and we’ll fill up the playlist with ‘Rare, Brazilian Gems’ as part of our Singers & Songwriters radio theme for October.
Today, iTunes and Amazon mean that our favorite songs are just a click away. But even though we have access to more music than ever before, you might be surprised to learn that some of Brazil’s best music remains on the other side of the digital divide. I’ll unearth a half dozen to share with you.
And I’d like to invite you to take The Sounds of Brazil’s Listener’s Survey – nine quick questions that’ll help me do an even better job of keeping ou ...
