It's been a while since Leo Gandelman packed up his saxophones and headed back home to Rio de Janeiro. With the kids finally off to college and the jazz scene popping in Brazil, new opportunities beckoned.  He launched Zaga Music, a third-floor studio in downtown Ipanema, tapped into the social media boom and expanded his jazz visions as both a producer and performer.

10Q: You play many string instruments in your shows. What are these instruments and how did you come up with this idea?
I’ve been playing 5 instruments in my US shows: mandolin, country guitar, tenor guitar, “dynamic guitar” [sic.], and cavaquinho.
